Who knew Stourport Boat Club has water wombles! (To those unfamiliar, a children’s programme in the 70’s with the same name featured wombles who cleaned up their local outdoor environment.) It is not the first time that Grant Simpson has done this. It was a huge haul of plastic that has been removed from the trees of the River Severn. A wonderful effort by just some of the volunteers that work hard in the background to enable us to enjoy our rowing. Thank you so much gentlemen for removing the eyesore and making the river safer for the wildlife, especially the swans who are now hatching eggs.
